We know anxiety, depression and stress can affect our health and wellbeing. Registered patients are welcome to call the NP clinic to make an appointment with our Registered Social Worker.
Mental illness either directly or indirectly affects all Canadians within their lifespan. According to the Canadian Mental Health Association, 1 in 5 Canadians will personally experience a mental health issue within a given year. Depression and anxiety disorders are the most common mental health issues Canadians may experience, affecting those of any age, gender, status, and/or culture. At Algoma NPLC, you may book an appointment with a NP to discuss your mood issues and the treatment that may be best for you. The Algoma NPLC has a committed Registered Social Worker (RSW) on site who aims to enhance overall mental health and well-being of our community. Our RSW uses different evidence-based psychotherapy techniques to support patients with a mental health condition or in need of psychosocial support.
